First Post

Well, I am excited to say that this will by my first post of many for this blog. I always go on the internet to find interesting news, so this seemed like the best way to keep track of the articles I find. Sometimes I find myself telling my friends of the news that I found out but I forget certain pieces of info. This will be a good way to keep my facts straight!

Just to let everyone know, I love news about science and people. I am a biology major at Florida State University (SeMiNoLeS!!!) so that might explain why. There are other things I like, too, but science and people are my favorite subjects. It's important to know what's going on in the world, whether you disagree with it or not.

Onto the good stuff!

Polygamy fueling Ariz.’s rate of genetic disorder

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19232005/

Ok…why would you force your people to interbreed if they are getting a crippling genetic disease? Does it make any sense? This reminds me of The Hills Have Eyes. I couldn’t find a picture with anyone with fumarase deficiency, so I can only leave it up to my imagination.

Self-effacing people are secretly confident

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19229822/

I hate this! I hate when you give someone a compliment and they're like "Omg no I look fat are you crazy?!?!?!" Just take the freakin compliment and move on! I know you just want me to repeat myself 500 times so the attention is all on you! At least the article lets us know that a lot of people are confident, which makes me happy.

Brain mix-up triggers strange feeling of déjà vu

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19098692/

This is a very interesting find since everyone has had deja vu at some point in their lives. I read once that some people thought deja vu was thoughts from a past life. I believe that the brain is a super confusing tool that we won't be able to fully understand for a while, and I think this finding is just one of the ways that our perception of the world is our reality. We can process the info our brain gives us in different ways, but the things we perceive might just be the way our brain works and nothing to do with supernatural things. But that's what I think. And I'm no scientist.

$%^#!! Miami drivers have the worst road rage

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18665115/

I find this pretty interesting since I live in South Florida. I don't live in Miami, but I definitely know that I've have plenty of run-ins with people with road rage. I figured that New York or Chicago or something would have more than Miami, though. Maybe it's the heat.

Okay, this is enough for now. And yes, I do get my news from MSNBC. It works for me!
